The Anchorline team have proudly SOLD & SETTLED the 40′ Norman Wright Classic Motor Cruiser, Camira.
Anchorline is proud to present the 40′ Norman Wright Classic Motor Cruiser, ‘Camira’ for sale.
Among many classic boat lovers there is a view that some boats are launched lucky as they seem to be found by owners who love, protect and lavish care on them. ‘Camira’ is such a boat. Designed by Norman R Wright and built by Jack Clark in 1956, ‘Camira’ is the perfect example of a Classic Moreton Bay Cruiser. In 2009 Camira’s current owners engaged Norman Wright & Sons to bring her into the 21st century and make her better than new. During this refit Camira’s hull was stiffened, her through hull fittings were removed and so was her gas system. Her decks and cabin top were reinforced and her windows and window frames were replaced. Additionally, her interior was completely recrafted and renewed. At the same time a bow thruster was installed, new teak decks were laid and she was given varnished hand rails and a varnished teak venturi hatch on her foredeck.
The current owners devotion to ‘Camira’ continued into 2013 when the entire propeller shaft bearings and stern tube were all removed and replaced with a custom built solid stainless steel shaft, new bearings and PPS pressure glands. A new custom built bronze stern tube was installed, fitted and tested by Lex Baddiley Marine Engineering.
Re-powered in 1998 with a 140hp Perkins Sabre engine, equipped with modern Simrad electronics and fitted with a bow thruster, ‘Camira’ is not only economical to run, but easily maneuvered. In addition, she offers a light and airy saloon, accommodation for 5 people, walk around side decks and a covered aft deck (suitable for fishing or entertaining friends and family). ‘Camira’ is a true classic that is small enough to be handled easily, yet large enough for four or more to stay aboard for a week on the bay
Other features include: Single 140hp Perkins Sabre engine | Sidepower bow thruster | Modern Simrad electronics | 1,100 Litre water capacity | 900 Litre Diesel capacity | 6.5kva Vetus generator | Accommodation for 5 | Electric Toilet | Eutectic and 240v refrigeration | Gas cooktop and oven | Covered aft deck | Laid teak decks (new 2009) | Custom made mizzen stay sail, furlers, swivels and sheets fitted | Paravane stabilizers (for use whilst at anchor) | Maintained and presented in excellent condition
Constantly admired for her beautiful lines, ‘Camira’ is a very capable boat that has being continuously modernised and improved by all her owners. An inspection of ‘Camira’ in Brisbane, Queensland is highly recommended and will not disappoint. Please contact Garth, Andrew or Curtis Fielding (07 5580 3377) today for further details.
