Back up in the main saloon, the helm is located on the starboard side and is fitted out with Furuno electronics, Glendinning electronic controls, and a Side-Power bow thruster control to assist when maneuvering in confined spaces. Powered by a single, low hour QSB 5.9 Cummins engine (230hp), ‘Pompei Polly’ has a comfortable cruise speed of 8-9 knots and a maximum speed of 12 knots. Access to the engine room is via large hatches in the saloon floor. Pompei Polly’s engine room also houses the Tecnicomar desalinator and the 4 Kva Onan generator.
