Anchorline are proud to exclusively present the 28′ Norman R. Wright & Sons, ‘Scotia’ for sale.
Spectacular from Bow to Stern, ‘Scotia’ is a vessel that needs no introduction. Designed and built by Norman Wrigth Jnr, Scotia was launch in 1948 as a Catalina flying boat tender operating out of Brisbane after World War II. Designed for transporting passengers to and from the flying boats, she originally had bench seating and gullwing hatches aft of the helm for embarking and disembarking and her large foredeck hatch was used for loading baggage. Following this time, she was then sold to the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, where she was used as a starter and pick-up boat for yacht races. In 1983 she again changed hands and has since been a privately owned pleasure boat.
‘Scotia’ has been fortunate enough to be owned by many loving families who have taken the time to refit and modernise her. In 1990 she underwent an extensive refit at Norman R. Wrigth & Sons where the hull and topsides were sheathed with epoxy and fibreglass. In more recent times Scotia has been re-powered with a 160hp Cummins (diesel) and has been continually upgraded and loved by her current owner. Offering a comfortable cruise speed of 12-13 knots, and top speed of 18-19 knots, she often turns heads as she efficiently crosses Moreton Bay. ‘Scotia’ is the perfect weekend or day boat, ideal for ducking over to the Sandhills at Moreton Island, pottering around the Broadwater, or leisurely cruising the Pittwater in style.
Features include: Single 160hp Cummins (Diesel, shaft drive) | 230 Litre fuel capacity | 180 Litre water capacity | Two burner stove | 12v fridge | V Berth (with in-fill) | Electric toilet | Settee berths aft | Teak folding table | Fusion stereo system (Bluetooth) | Icom VHF | Raymarine autopilot | Raymarine log | Raymarine GPS | Canvas side curtains | Front windscreen cover | Solar panels | Folding duckboard | Custom ply tender | Professionally maintained and presented in excellent condition
