1000 fewer derelict vessels in Queensland
Celebrations today as the 1000th derelict vessel was removed from Queensland’s waterways as part of the Palaszczuk Government’s War on Wrecks program. Since it’s inception in July 2018, abandoned and derelict boats of all shapes and sizes have been removed by Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ), the Gold Coast Waterways Authority (MSQ), professional contractors and boat owners that have been assisted in disposing of their no longer seaworthy vessels.
